Radha-Krishna Temple has historic value: Yudhvir

JAMMU: MLA Priya Sethi and BJP Vice President, Yudhvir Sethi joined the installation ceremony of idols of Radha and Krishan, Kali Mata, Lakshmi Narayan, Jalfa Mata, Ganesh ji and Maa Saraswati at the historic Radha-Krishna Temple located at Pacci Dhakki area of Jammu city.
The installation ceremony was organised by the devotees and management of Pacci Dhakki Welfare Committee.
Speaking on the occasion, Priya Sethi said, “Believed to be constructed by erstwhile Maharaja of the State this historic Temple is about 300 years old and after giving it a new look it was again thrown open for commoners who had been paying their obeisance here since ages but were pained at the condition of this temple.”
Earlier, a Kalash Yatra was also taken out by the devotees.
Yudhvir Sethi, in his address, said this is second rarest temple of its kind in Northern India where thousands of devotees pose their faith in this historic place of worship. He said this is the second such temple after Mathura where Statues of Krishna and his wife are installed for worship. The temple also possesses historic value and is visited by thousands of devotees.
Pertinent to mention here that the Maharajas of Jammu had constructed five temples namely Radha Krishna, Pakki Dhakki; Laxmi Narayan Panjtirthi; Gada Dhari, Dewana Mandir; and two temples of Bhagwan Shiva near Peerkho about 300 years ago.
Seema Dogra, Parsino Devi, Usha Sharma, Pawan Kumar, Sunny Dogra, Sanjay Kumar and Dharampal were also present.
