KATHUA: BJP J&K UT Vice President and Prabhari Kathua, Yudhvir Sethi strongly condemned the attack and assault on Party’s Mandal President of Kathua by an candidate of opposition party for DDC polls, demanding due security arrangements for the all the BJP workers and leaders working on grass root level for strengthening the democracy in J&K.
“BJP is and will always be shoulder to shoulder with all the persons who believe in democracy and democratic structure,” Sethi said while addressing a press conference at Nagri, Kathua.
The senior BJP leader termed the assault on BJP Mandal President, who is also an ex-serviceman, as unconstitutional and unacceptable while he was campaigning for District Development Council (DDC) elections.”
Sethi said that Kathua district has witnessed massive development under BJP regime due to which people are wholeheartedly extending support to BJP candidates. Such things are not digestible to opposition party leaders, he said, adding that due to such frustration they are attacking BJP workers.
The sole purpose of DDC Elections is to strengthen the democracy at grass roots level and attacking a party worker while he/she is working for a democratic cause must be dealt under the court of law, Sethi said and added that the UT administration must take action against the culprits under the court of law so that such hurdles in democracy must not happen in future.
The opposition party leader has not only attacked Party’s leader but also interrupted a democratic process in going since participation in the DDC elections and campaigning for the same is a must for strengthening democracy.
He said that DDC election would ensure the development of every rural and urban areas and people will be able to choose their known representatives who would further address their issues and act like brick of democracy.
“People have made up their mind and are set to choose BJP in the ongoing DDC elections since the people know that BJP is the only party which is working tirelessly for the development, peace and prosperity of people of J&K,” Sethi said and added that people nationalist people of J&K must shun Congress, NC and PDP and would turn away from these self centric political parties.
In the ongoing DDC Elections and its further phases to come, the Administration must provide security to all the BJP candidates and party leaders so that they can campaign for DDC polls without any fear and insecurity and such happenings and hurdles in transparent democracy are avoided in near future, Sethi said.
BJP State Secretary Gopal Mahajan , BJP SC Morcha District President Bhopinder Raj, Sr. Leader Arti Jasrotia, Narinder Kala , Dharamveer Singh and Akshay Bharti District Co-Media Secretary BJP Kathua were also present there.
