R S PURA: Intensifying their protest the people of six Panchayats of RS Pura led by Sarpanch Ravinder Singh blocked the RS Pura – Jammu Road early in the morning, raised anti-MLA slogans and burnt the effigy of MLA RS Pura Gagan Bhagat for deliberately delaying the supply of 6.3 MV transformer for Grid Station Kulian.
The protesters including Ravinder Singh, Sham Gorkha, Ashok Choudhary and others alleged that the transformer which had already been released was stopped by MLA which led to the protest by them on Thursday and then today again. Meanwhile the Vice Chairman of State Advisory Board Bhushan Lal Dogra reached the spot and assured the people that he would solve the problem but the protesters said that they will not open the road till the transformer reaches the Grid Station Kullian as already assured. The protesters lifted Dharna and opened the road only when the transformer reached the destination.
Meanwhile BJP leader Hardev Singh condemned blocking of road by the protesters which caused great difficulty to the common people.
