UDHAMPUR: A strong protest was held by the residents of Garhi and Rehmbal against encroachment of government land in the locality by the land mafia who threaten the entry of common users where a century old well is situated for drinking water.
The protesters appealed to the District Administration to take immediate action against these land grabbers failing which the people will intensify their agitation and come on road.
The senior BJP leader and contested MLA Udhampur Pawan Khajuria also reached the spot and urged the administration to take note of the offence on the part of grabbers. Prominent among those who participated in the protest include Bhushan kumar, Yashpal Sharma, Ravi Kumar, Vijay Kumar, Shamsher Singh, Bansi Lal and others.
