STATE TIMES NEWS
JAMMU: Former Education Minister and Chairman JKNPP Harsh Dev Singh lambasted the State Government and BJP in particular for proposing to bulldoze the Government Girls High School, City Chowk and shifting the students to some other school for the construction of parking facility under the pretext of rationalization of schools. He said that the schools are the temples of learning and any move to raze them to the ground for the convenience of the vested interests was highly insane and sacrilegious. Infuriated by the obnoxious move of the State Government to demolish the School for the sake of construction of the parking lot, Harsh along with other party leaders visited the deserted school to express his solidarity with the aggrieved parents and the students at City Chowk, Jammu. The Panthers Party leaders assured full support to them in all odds and circumstances. He regretted that the BJP which proclaimed itself as the messiah of the Dogras had now turned morally decadent and such deplorable proposals had only unveiled its treacherous character. Singh wondered that what type of rationalization of schools was mulled by the State government in which the educational institutions were supposed to be demolished and obliterated to meet the vested ends. He said that BJP under the garb of the concept was only interested to construct parking facility for the convenience of the influential people including the MoS School Education who were living in the vicinity and nothing else.
Anguished over the pathetic plight of the students during the spine chilling winters, Singh said that the aggrieved parents and the students were made to languish and protest in open for their genuine demand seeking roll back of the proposal. He asked the BJP partnered coalition that how could it play with future of the students by proposing such disgusting move in the middle of their academic session and few months before the final examinations.
Lambasting the tall slogan of the Saffron Party of ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’, he accused the BJP for its dual standards. He said that Panthers Party shall stand toe to toe and shoulder to shoulder with the students and resist all such moves of the State Government come what may.
Others who accompanied Harsh Dev Singh include Rajesh Padgotra, Shyam Gorkha, Gagan Pratap, Purshottam Parihar, Udeyveer and Sansar Chand.
