R S PURA: Criticising the State Govt for its failure to promote border tourism, ex-MLA and NPP President Balwant Singh Mankotia blamed that despite announcements, State Govt has failed to promote R S Pura and Suchetgarh for border tourism and announcements in this regard remained on papers only. State Government’s announcement that Jammu would become independent tourist destination have also become a distant dream for the people of Jammu region.
While talking to reporters at R S Pura, ex-MLA and NPP president Balwant Singh Mankotia blamed that State Govt has failed to promote R S Pura and Suchetgarh for border tourism and announcement in this regard remained on papers only. Coalition Government also announced that Suchetgarh border should be promoted on the pattern of Wagha border and tourists from other parts of country would visit and local youth will get employment but unfortunately nothing has been done on ground.
Mankotia alleged that hollow claims of Govt to promote border tourism is distant dream but has failed to uplift the dilapidated conditions of the border roads of R.S.Pura and Suchetgarh Constituency. The double laining of the Satwari-Suchetgarh Road was started in 2009-2010 and work on this road has not yet been completed and people are facing inconvenience and it has become accident prone area and people are facing loss of precious lives, regretted Mankotia.
NPP senior leader Sham Gorkha alleged that most of the R.S.Pura roads started for repairing have been abandoned without any reason and funds have been misused. He said Mamka-Dabler Road, Simbal Camp-Tanda Road, Kullian to Simbal Camp Ward No. 4 Road, R S Pura to Barnota road and Salam Chak roads are in dilapidated condition and if repair of these roads is not started early, party workers will come on the roads and asked concerned authorities to start repair work on these roads.
