DANSAL: Former MLA and Senior Congress leader, Shivdev Singh criticised State Government for its failure to provide basic amenities to the people of Nagrota Constituency.
While addressing a public meeting at Dansal on Sunday, Singh said that PDP-BJP Coalition Government has totally failed to address the problems of the people of the State.
“Since they (BJP-PDP) joined hands, the miseries of the people of the State in general and Nagrota Constituency in particular have increased manifolds. All the promises made to the people prior to the Assembly elections of 2014 remained unfulfilled,” he asserted.
Shivdev Singh said that from the first day the PDP-BJP Coalition Government took over all the developmental works have been put on halt. “The condition of roads has become deplorable besides there is problem of potable water, power supply, medical and education facilities etc. The people are fed up from the unscheduled power cuts due to which the water supply is also affected.
The state of link roads in rural area of Nagrota Constituency is in dilapidated condition which shows the real face of the government,” he said.
He urged upon the government to immediately start work for repair of inner roads connecting villages to the national highway in the areas. He also demanded providing of potable water and electric supply at the earliest so that people may not suffer any more.
Shivdev asked government to consider the demands of PHE ITI daily rated workers who were on strike for the last more than one month. He also demanded accident hospital at Jajhar Kotli as there is no hospital between Jammu and Udhampur on National Highway.
Panchs, Sarpanchs and prominent people of Jajhar Kotli, Dansal, Barsue, Kah Pota, Jandrah , Kathar and Kishenpur were present on the occasion and apprised him about the hardships being faced by them.
Singh urged upon the party workers to reach out to the people with the programmes and policies of the party.
On this occasion he felt confident that people of the Nagrota Constituency have realised that it is the Congress Party alone which has served them (people) best and would continue to strive hard for the overall development of the constituency.
Prominent among those who were present in the public meeting included Sarapnch Balwan Singh, Sapanch Madan Mohan Dubey, Chairman Panchayat Manwal- Charan Dass, BCC Vice President Dansal Rumal Singh and General Secretary Narayan Dutt Sharma.
