BARAMULLA: District Development Commissioner, Baramulla, Dr Farooq Ahmad Lone on Monday presided over an officers meeting convened to review the progress of establishing and making functional National Population Register Enrolment Centres (NPREC) in district.
It was given out that NPR enrolment centres will be set up at Tehsil/ Taluka/ block/ Circle/ District level and will be useful for enrolment of all left out population. The NPR centres will be in operation for one year and the biometric kits will be at the disposal of the district and tehsil administration along with the manpower.
Additional District Development Commissioner, Baramulla was nominated as the Nodal Officer at District Level for monitoring and supervision of the NPR enrolment centres while at Tehsil level this job will be monitored by concerned Tehsildars.
The Deputy Commissioner asked concerned Officers to create awareness among the common masses regarding the registration process by using the services of Patwaris, Chowkidars, Numberdars, Sarpanchs and Panchs so that people can get the benefit of the centrally and state sponsored schemes operational in the district.
