Prof Dr Tandon from GMC Jammu conferred most prestigious fellowship FAMS of NAMS

JAMMU: The award of Fellowship of the National Academy of Medical Sciences ( A, scientific, academic, research and professional body governed under Ministry of Health and family welfare, Govt. of India) is an honour bestowed upon eminent Medical scientist, researchers and academicians after credential based selection for their academic excellence and professional achievements who have brought honour and respect to the Academy as well as medical fraternity by their immense contributions at state, National and International level.
Dr Vishal R Tandon, eminent and Rewound, Faculty members from GMC Jammu has brought laurels for the state by joining the pool of only fellows from J&K ie. Prof. Dr Nasib Singh Pathania- Founder Principal GMC Jammu, Prof. Dr Ravinder Madan, Former Principal and honourable Member Public Service Commission, Dr Shakti Kumar Gupta- Executive Director, AIIMS Jammu, Dr Quadri, Mohd Ismail- Srinagar, Dr Syed, Amin Tabish- Srinagar, Dr. Mohd Ashraf Ganie- Director SKIMS Kashmir.
This rare Distinction & honour has followed to him on account of his meritorious and distinct contributions in the field of Medical Education, Research, Medical Journalism, Patient care, Drug safety & promotion of rational drug use and public awareness as well as his valuable consistent contributions for the academy.
Previously he has been awarded prestigious fellowships and memberships like FRCP (Edn)-UK, FRCP (Glasgow)-UK, FIMS, FIMSA, MAMS & CIMP.
Dr Tandon is a permanent member of World Association of Medical Editor (WAME), International Committee of Medical Journal Editor (ICMJE) and is rendering his services as National expert in subject expert committee and an expert in National Periodic Safety Update Reports (PSUR) Review Committee at Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO) under Directorate General of Health Services, Union Ministry of Health & Family Welfare.
He is also expert member of signal review committee of two national programmes, PvPI and MvPI, IPC, MoHFW, GoI.
Recently nominated by GoI as international resource person for training of Bhutan Drug regulatory authorities, Dr Tandon is an editor in chief of JK Science (Embase/Scopus /DOAJ) and remained editor in chief for Journal midlife health (Pubmed), with more than 216 research publications and 18 book chapter to his credit.
He has been also DNB and NMC expert nominated By NBE authority-and by National Medical Council of India. He is on expert/Advisory panel/Member of many Professional Bodies scientific Societies and Journals and University of Jammu.
