SUNDERBANI: Underl-ining the commitment of the government to provide modern educational infrastructure in schools across the State, Minister of State for Education, Tourism, Technical Education, Culture, Horticulture, Floriculture and Parks Priya Sethi said the government is working on the roadmap to open better education institutions in every nook and corner of the State and the institutions would have all required trained human resources as well as best infrastructure.
” With the opening of premier education institutions like IIM, IIT, AIIMS and IIMC in the State a foundation has been laid for developing J and K as the next educational hub in the country and in near future our students would have access to world class education setup in the state,” she added.
The minister said this while inspecting the proposed site for construction of Degree College at Thanda Pani, Sunderbani.
During inspection the minister gave on spot directions to the concerned revenue authorities to hand over the site to JKPCC after demarcation so that work on the project is started immediately.
Commissioner-Secretary Higher Education Asghar Samoon also accompanied the minister.
Sethi directed the concerned officers of JKPCC to start the work of fencing and approach road immediately. Executive Engineer PHE and PDD were asked to prepare and submit the requisite estimates for starting the construction work within a week’s time.
Priya said funds to the tune of Rs 2 crore have been sanctioned for the college and once completed this degree college would serve the purpose of higher education needs of Kalakote, Dharmsal, Siot, Lamberi and other far flung areas.
Priya Sethi exhorted upon the executing agencies to immediately start the construction work of this college building and ensure its completion in record time.
MLA, Sunderbani Ravinder Raina appreciated the prompt response of the minister and said that with timely intervention long pending demand of the people of the area would now be fulfilled.
Nitu Gupta, Special Secretary Higher Education, Mumtaz Choudhary, Additional Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Kartar Singh, Sub-Divisional Magistrate Sunderbani, Superin-tending Engineer JKPCC, Nodal Principal GGM Sc. College and Principal Degree College Sunderbani also accompanied the minister during visit.
