The Chief Minister has been right in questioning the efficacy of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited in Jammu and Kashmir as it failed miserably to rise to the occasion to set the most needed communication link in place. While a private cellular company was first to restore mobile services in the midst of crisis, the public sector Nigham was found wanting in meeting the challenge. Otherwise also, the BSNL has failed to keep pace with changing times despite huge manpower and technology at its command.
Is it a matter of pride or shame for the BSNL to be reached at through a small-time private company during the crisis like situation in Kashmir and remaining in a state of inertia even after a month of its collapse?
