What can be the level of callousness of the government than ignoring natural calamity victims for nearly three weeks by leaving them in wilderness while trumpeting in high pitch over rescue and relief measures? Minister for Planning and Development has asked the administration to shift the landslide hit victims of Sadal hamlet in Panchari Block of Udhampur to safer places. This is the place which witnessed entire population getting uprooted due to landslides 17 days ago. While several bodies have been retrieved from debris, 27 are still reported to be missing.
Is it a matter of pride or shame for the administration to leave in lurch the most tormented people of the haunted hamlet until getting orders from a minister to shift them to safety?
