With trend among retired bureaucrats joining politics gaining momentum, a new political culture has developed in Jammu and Kashmir in recent years. For those failing to make post-retirement rehabilitation in the government or public sector undertakings, politics remains the only and ideal dumping ground to be relevant to society. No sooner getting into politics; they try to carve out a clout for themselves by optimally using media. Despite being novice they pretend to be political genius and superior even to those having spent entire life in politics.
Is it a matter of pride or shame for bureaucrat turned politicians to carry the baggage of officialdom along and portray themselves as ‘senior leaders’ despite being infants in their new avtaar?
