Jammu and Kashmir Police Housing Corporation has presented a cheque of Rs 50 lakhs ‘out of its limited funds’ to Chief Minister’s Flood Relief Fund which has been accepted by Omar Abdullah with a generous word of appreciation. The amount was neither raised as donations from employees’ wages nor out of profit of the Corporation, which it is not supposed to earn. It seems to be transferring funds allocated for raising much needed infrastructure for police personnel and organisation, to relief head of the government.
Is it a matter of pride or shame to demonstrate generosity by utilizing borrowed money which is akin to performing ‘Gaudhan’ during the ongoing Pittar Paksh by offering neighbour’s cow to the Pujari?
