The Divisional Administrti-on of Jammu has been made to awaken from deep slumber to take cognisance of water scarcity in the region due to strike by Public Health Engineering ’employees’ or daily wagers. The administration has threatened the employees of action under ESMA if they create obstacles in making the drinking water available to people through water tankers. It must be really a gigantic effort to meet the requirements of the region through tankers, a move not considered during the past three days.
Is it a matter of pride or shame for the administration to get activated only when Courts direct them to do so as they have ceased to perform even their bonafide duties?
