JAMMU: Police on Wednesday arrested a narco smuggler and recovered 10 grams heroin from his possession.
Under operation Sanjeevani, police party was patrolling at Dogra Hall near petrol pump at about 5:30 PM. A pedestrian on seeing the police party tried to escape from the spot but he was chased and caught. During search, 10 grams of heroin like substance was recovered from his possession. He has been identified as Mohammad Taj, son of Mohammad Sadiq, resident of Chack Banola Tehsil Mendhar District Poonch.
A case vide FIR No. 111/2016 under Sections 8, 21 and 22 NDPS Act was registered at Police Station Pacca Danga, Jammu and investigation was started. The arrest was made under the supervision of SDPO City North, DySP Vivek Shekar and SP City North Jammu, Dr Vinod Kumar.
