Polling officers imparted EVM training in Udhampur

UDHAMPUR: In order to ensure smooth conduct of Assembly Election-2014 in 60-Udhampur, 61-Chenani and 62-Ramnagar Assembly Constituencies training was held on Wednesday at the respective constituencies of the district Udhampur. Over 1,221 polling officers were imparted Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) training by master trainers in two shifts.
A total of 473 polling staff of 60-Udhampur was provided training on the Electronic Voting Machine at Town Hall Udhampur in two shifts by the master trainers.
During the training session, The Returning Officer (RO) 60- Udhampur,. Pawan Parihar asked all the trainees to make themselves fully adapt in handling of EVMs before the polling day with necessary instructions on the spot to the polling officers for the conduct of free and fair polling.
ARO 60-Udhampur, Sanjay Badyal directed all polling officers to be over cautious and work with full dedication and sincere efforts.
Similar training was imparted to the polling officers of 62- Ramnagar Assembly Constituency who are to be engaged for Assembly Elections 2014 at Higher Secondary School, Ramnagar. In two shifts around 405 polling personnel were provided training on the Electronic Voting Machine by the master trainers.
The training programme was conducted under the chairmanship of RO 62-Ramnagar Assembly Constituency (SDM, Basantgarh) Deep Raj and under the supervision of ARO, Tehsildar Ramnagar, Dr. Kavita Pandoh.
Similarly, polling personnel of 61-Chenani Assembly constituency were also imparted training on Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) through master trainers. A total of 343 employees were given intensive training to make the poll successful.
The training programme was conducted under the supervision of Tehsildar Chenani, Dr. Usman Choudhary who is also Assistant Returning Officer (ARO) 61- Chenani.
ARO stressed upon the trainees to take keen interest in the training programmes and the do’s and don’t’s during the elections. They were advised to go thoroughly through the instructions of Election Commission of India for smooth and transparent elections.
