JAMMU: To strengthen the police-public relations and to bring people nearer to the police for better output in prevention, detection of crime and solving the problems of general public, a police-public meeting was held at Talab Tillo, here on Saturday.
The meeting was chaired by Sub Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) West DySP Nikhil Rasgotra and was attended among others Station House Officer (SHO) Nowabad Inspector R.S Choudhary, Chowki Officer Canal Road Sub Inspector Vijay Sharma and Chowki Officer Talab Tillo Sub Inspector Rahul Mahajan.
Large number of respectable youth of the area participated in the meeting.
The participants assured their help and assistance to the police in eradication of crime from their areas. They also put forth various public issues and problems faced by the general public. The main issue discussed during the meeting were drugs and traffic problems.
The grievances of all the participants were heard patiently and DySP Nikhil Rasgotra assured that their genuine demands will be communicated to the concerned senior officers for immediate redressal.
Civil society member Keshav Chopra requested the police to solve the issues of youths on priority so that they feel secure.
Parneesh Mahajan, Rajan Gupta, Sanjeev Sharma and Jeet Angral were also present in the meeting.
