Police nab notorious criminal after a chase

JAMMU: Police on Wednesday claimed to have solved a robbery case within three hours by arresting a notorious criminal, who was involved in number of heinous crimes and recovered stolen car, golden ornaments and a pistol from his possession.
According to reports, on Tuesday night at about 10:35 PM, one Gourav Sharma (23), son of Romesh Chander, resident of Banglar, Samba lodged a complaint with Bishnah Police that a youth Pankaj Singh alias Panku (24), son of Gopal Singh, resident of Kotli Mian Fateh, Miran Sahib who was known to the complainant came and pointed a pistol on his forehead and threatened him to get out of the vehicle and after that he fled away from the spot along with the vehicle and some golden ornaments which were kept inside the vehicle.
Gourav in his complaint said he was waiting in the grooms car (Chevrolet Cruze JK21C-1525) near Beotra Marriage Hall Bishnah, the alleged youth took the vehicle on gun point. The vehicle had some golden ornaments.
On this, a case FIR No. 160/2016 under Section 382 RPC, 3/25 Arms Act was registered at Police Station Bishnah, upon this SHO Police Station Bishnah constituted four teams to nab the accused.
The team headed by SHO Bishnah spotted the Chevrolet Cruz near village Banachak, Ratnal Road at about 12:30 AM, on seeing the police, accused tried to fled away from the spot.
The accused while escaping could not control his vehicle and fell into the canal, from where he tried to run and was chased by the police party and nabbed.
Stolen car, golden ornaments and a pistol was also recovered from his possession. The operation was conducted under the supervision of Surinder Kumar, SDPO R S Pura, R.C Kotwal, SP Headq-uarters Jammu and under the overall supervision of Dr. Sunil Gupta, SSP Jammu.
