Police inaugurates Women’s Volleyball Tournament

SHOPIAN: In a remarkable initiative to promote women’s sports and community engagement, Police in Shopian inaugurated the Women’s Volleyball Tournament under Civic Action Programme at Sports Stadium Batpora, here on Monday.
The event witnessed the presence of distinguished guests, community leaders, and enthusiastic spectators, who came together to support the participating athletes.
During the inaugural ceremony, the senior police officers highlighted the significance of sports in promoting physical fitness, mental well-being, and overall personality development.
They underscored the role of sports in empowering women, instilling discipline, and nurturing leadership qualities.
SSP Shopian Tanushree stressed upon the young & budding players of the district to allow their minds to explore their own thoughts and imagination through the medium of sports.
The inaugural match was played between Shahi Hamdan School and Shadab Karewa which was won by Shahi Hamdan School.
