JAMMU: PoJK Refugee Front on Tuesday staged protest against the Ex. PRO Jammu and Additional Commissioner Jammu for not initiating the process of implementation of Financial Package sanctioned by the Government of India on 9th August 2000 after due recommendations of the National Human Rights Commissioner of India. Led by Rachhpal Singh Chib, President of the Front, the refugees assembled here and raised slogans in support of their demands.
The front appealed to the State Government to constitute enquiry committee to pin point the officer responsible for committing crime against the PoJK refugees.
The officers (PRO) have misused the official position by befooling the State Government, Union Government and PoJK refugees, Chib added.
“The State Government published notification on 20th March 2016 from theOoffice of the Deputy Commissioner Jammu which consists of list of documents to be submitted along with application form for all categories,” he said adding that most of the PoJK DPs are illiterate, old and infirm and require guidance in preparing their documents to submit along with their application forms for examining compensation sanctioned by the Modi Government.
He demanded to appoint revenue officials for preparing documents from DPs of PoJK. He also asked Govt to register left out DP families who have not been registered by the State Government.
