PNB all set to achieve target under Jan Dhan Yojna

JAMMU: Punjab National Bank (PNB) organised a sensitisation programme for Bank Mitras from across the State in order to achieve 100 per cent coverage of all households in the allocated villages.
The Bank Mitras are the business correspondents appointed by PNB for carrying out the programme of PMJDY (Prime Minister Jan Dhan Yojna).
Bank Mitras participated in the interactive session chaired by M.L Mir DGM Circle Head J and K Circle who apprised them about the urgency and the challenges of the huge task in hand which is being closely monitored by Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) through Director Financial Services (DFS) Ministry of Finance. He stressed upon achievement of the 100 per cent coverage well before the deadline of 26th December 2015. They were all provided with the proper uniforms so that they can be identified by the general public.
The dedicated staff of PNB has already opened 38,293 accounts under PMJDY since 16th August 2014.
The seminar was also attended by some account holders of PMJDY who shared their experiences with the management of the bank. The feedback from them was very positive and encouraging. The account holders and Bank Mitras had one to one interaction with the top management of PNB through Video Conference connecting them with Head Office at New Delhi. All Bank Mitras assured to achieve the total coverage as per the targets.
