KATHUA: Govt. Degree College Billawar organised a plantation drive in the college campus on Tuesday in which Deputy Commissioner Kathua, Dr. Shahid Iqbal Chaudhary was the Chief Guest. College NSS students and staff planted saplings of various trees like Alstonia, Glacous cassia, Pterospermum, Australian Acacia, Bottle-brush, Lagerstroemia etc.
DC, Kathua appreciated the efforts of the college for organising such an event to safeguard the environment and enriching the college campus with a variety of trees.
Principal, Dr. Nater Singh thanked the Chief Guest for sparing the valuable time from his busy schedule and motivating the students to actively take part in such activities for promoting a healthy environment.
