Jammu: A 63-year-old pilgrim today died on his way to the cave shrine of Mata Vaishno Devi in Jammu and Kashmir’s Reasi district, police said today.
Ram Prit Malakar was heading for the shrine along with his family to pay obeisance when he suddenly collapsed, they said.
He was rushed to a health centre at Katra, the base camp of the shrine, where doctors declared him brought dead, police said.
He apparently died of heart attack, police said, adding that the body will be handed over to his family after completing legal formalities.
