JAMMU: PHE daily wagers of the Jammu Province continued their strike, which entered fourth day on Thursday, demanding regularisation and release of pending wages.
President, All J and K ITI Trained and CP Workers Association, Tanveer Hussain said that despite various requests made by the daily wagers the government has turned deaf ear to our genuine demand for which we are entitled.
“In case of continuous silence by the government, we are compelled to go on strike and no execution of work will take place henceforth and we will not be held responsible for any lapse in this regard,” he said.
Government has constituted the committee, sub-committee for the redressed of the grievances of the daily wagers who utterly failed to regularise them, he alleged.
“Former PHE Minister also promised us that he would redress the grievances of the daily wagers but all in vain,” he added.
“We are working in this department for the last 25 years, continuously are still without regularization and no wages paid for the last three years,” he said.
Protesters asked the Governor N.N Vohra to take immediate steps in the direction of regularisation policy and payment of wages of agitating workers.
