MENDHAR: Block Development Officer (BDO) Balakote, Tehsil Mendhar was attacked, assaulted and made hostage by Sarpanch of the block and his supporters. Police have registered the case but the accused are absconding.
According to the reports Sarpanch of Lower Dhargloon Master Shabir Ahmed Khan and his supporters reached the Office of BDO Balakote Abdul Rashid Khawaja. The Sarpanch and his supporters during discussion with BDO regarding non-completion of the building of Panchayat Ghar, attacked the BDO in his office and later made him hostage by locking him inside the office when the Sarpanch and his men were not satisfied with the reply of BDO.
The BDO immediately lodged a complaint with SHO Gursai and SDPO Mendhar who reached the spot and registered a case against Sarpanch Master Shabir Ahmed Khan and his supporters under FIR 16/2016 section 353/3412/427/504 and 506 RPC for investigation.
