JAMMU: A Kaam Chhoro Hartal of casual labourers, need based, ITI trained and CP workers of various State departments under the banner of United Front entered second day on Tuesday here in front of Office of Chief Engineer, BC Road to put pressure on the government to regularise their services.
Hundreds of casual labourers, need based, ITI trained and CP workers assembled at the strike venue and staged a protest against the government for ignoring their burning demands including regularisation of all casual workers, need based, ITI trained and CP workers engaged after 1994 and release of pending wages.
Addressing the protestors, Tanveer Hussain said, the previous State Government cheated them by making false promises of their regularisation.
“Number of committees and sub-committees were framed by the previous government to resolve our long pending demands but every time the related files were seen gathering dust in the secretariat, he said alleging such a move of the previous government was mere an eyewash. The protestors appealed to Governor N.N Vohra to intervene personally and resolve their long pending demand of regularisation.
Other prominent leaders who addressed the gathering include Deepak Gupta (Vice President), Subash Chander (General Secretary), Manjeet Singh, Jeevan Singh, Pawan Kumar (Stage Secretary), Tilak Raj, Arun Singh, Pardeep Kumar, Banu Partap, Toffan Singh, Nissar Ahmed, Altaf Hussain, Sat Paul, Romi Verma, Sahzab, Sakoor, Ashok Kumar, Maqbool Hussain, Farooq Ahmed, Raffo Ahmed, Soan Chowdary, Kuldeep, Bhushan, Dhani Ram, Shokat, Sushil Kumar, Sanjay Kumar, Gupal Dass and Raj Kumar.
