SAMBA: Delivering his holy sermons at Sant Ashram Ranjri (Samba), Madhu Param Hans Maharaj, the spiritual head of Sahib Bandgi panth, threw light on the glory of a true and real Satguru. He said that a perfect Guru, like a Bhring, can change the Jiva.
The Bhring is also called as Bhandarin. It is a very rare Jiva. There are males and females in all the species but it is male alone. It has no female. It multiplies its family in a very lovely manner. It catches hold of an insect, speaks its special sound into its ears and turns it like itself. Sahib Kabir says that a Guru also possesses the same power.
After all, what does a Guru do? All of us are living in a scientific age. But the scientists have succeeded only in changing the physical appearances of man and other animals but to change the nature and behaviour is beyond their reach.
This task can be performed by saints alone.
They have a great power in their concentration (Surti). A conch has a definite system in it that helps it change the Swati drop into a pearl. The scientists can’t even dream of changing a water drop into a pearl. A musk deer has a system in its navel that helps it produce musk. Musk is, in fact, the semen of the deer. But none has so far succeeded in producing musk out of chemicals of any kind.
Now the question arises as to what is Surti. The Surti itself is soul. When everything is left behind, it is the Surti alone that reaches before God. The physical body doesn’t have the power to reach there. The nose has the power of smelling while the ears are devoid of any such power. Likewise, God also can be realised through soul alone. It means the soul has a great power in it.
Just as an umbrella can save us from heat of the sun, the shelter of a Satguru saves us from the cruelties and sufferings of the world.
