RS PURA : The residents of village Kullian and adjoining areas held a strong protest against the Power Development Department (PDD) and blocked the RS Pura Road for not fulfilling their demand and giving them false assurances that 6.3 MV transformer is reaching on Thursday.
The protest was led by Sarpanch Rasvinder Singh in which the villagers raised slogans against the PDD Minister, MLA of the constituency Dr Gagan Bhagat and the Chief Engineer for playing with the sentiments of the people.
Sarpanch Ravinder Singh while talking to media disclosed that after great struggle for providing 6.3 MV transformer for Grid Station Kulian, the same was sanctioned and they were told that it has been loaded in the vehicle and would reach Kulian on Thursday. The enthused people thronged the grid station and kept on waiting for the transformer but it never came. Alleging the PDD for cheating people, Sarpanch Ravinder Singh said hundreds of people will hold continuous protest till such time the transformer reaches the grid station and is installed.
