BISHNAH: People Democaratic Party (PDP) on Friday asked State and Central Governments to take effective steps to properly rehabilitate flood and rain effected people of Bishnah. Party said that there was a dire need to take immediate measures to provide relief to the affected families.
Addressing a joint press conference F.C Bhagat PDP Candidate Bishnah, Yashpal Bhagat Province President Kissan Cell, Chatar Singh Saini Dist. Vice President, Nisha Kumari Mahila Wing and Sr. Party Worker Babu Ram Saini appealed to the State Government to take effective steps to rehabilitate the effected people at the earliest.
In this regard, the Bishnah Wing of PDP has putforth a five point programme before the administration to help the effected people. The PDP leaders highlighted five major demands for the rehabilitation of the people which include all the affected, people who were residing near rivers or elsewhere whose houses have been completely washed away by the recent flood / rain or destroyed should be duly compensated by providing government accommodation for the time being till they are provided two room sets at safer places; people who have lost their lives during the recent flood and rain, their nearest kith and kins be provided a relief of Rs. 10 lakh each; free ration supply should be provided at least for six months to the people of Bishnah range whose standing crops and agricultural land of worth crores of rupees has been washed away; free medical camps should be organised in the affected areas so that epidemic may not breakout and authorities should be directed to clean the houses of the flood / rain affected area which is filled with sand, clay and mud; list of the claims of the affected people should be published at least fifteen days before the disbursement of compensation so that no deserving case of compensation is left out and no un-deserving person takes the benefit due to political pressure as happened in past.
