SRINAGAR: To gear up for Urban Local Bodies (ULB) and Panchayat polls, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is all set to intensify its activities at grass root level.
“The party is at present busy with membership drive which is progressive well with people enthusiastically seeking the party’s registration,” a party spokesman stated on Friday.
He added that the party is likely to review the grass root activity at zonal level in which all the zone presidents with district and zone committees will be invited to participate.
He said that party is awaiting approval from its president Mehbooba Mufti for ensuring broad based complexion of the organization and viable structuring with sister organizations (the youth and women wing) to assume organizational responsibilities with full sense of participation.
The spokesman said that party president has already directed for due representation to women and youth in the parent organization, the process of which has already begun at district and zone levels.
“Party will ensure the accomplishment of the vision of party patron Mufti Mohammad Sayeed and serious efforts are being made in this direction for effective orientation of the party cadre,” he added.
The spokesman also said that party is committed to sustainable peace and the party will make relentless effort to achieve the goals under the dynamic leadership of Mehbooba Mufti.
