JAMMU: Asking urgent need of reviving peace and reconciliation process in Jammu and Kashmir, People Democratic Party (PDP) sought sincere positive contribution from all the political parties, civil societies and right thinking citizens.
Addressing a press conference here on Saturday, the Vice President PDP, Rangil Singh called upon all political parties to rise above their affiliations and contribute positively for ridding the people from their miseries heaped on them during unrest in the Valley.
He said that the reconciliation process which had started in 2002 by then NDA Government had shown tangible results on the ground.
Referring to the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti’s ‘Agenda of Alliance’, Singh reiterated that this is not event related but it is a process which would be taken to logical conclusion through tangible initiations of political, economic and administrative fronts including dialogue with all the stakeholders to address momentous challenges confronting J and K State.
Reminding the political parties of their role at this juncture, Ringh said that it is not the time to find fault with the ongoing peacemaking initiative merely to gain political mileage without feeling the agony of the suffers. “The situation requires whole hearted cooperation from every political party,” he added.
“Efforts need not be made to fish in the troubled waters,” he observed.
“Kashmiri youth full of talent have excelled in every competition. If they go astray, then entire fault lies with someone else who do not want to see their families progress,” Singh said, adding that now a comprehensive plan to constrictively channelise youth energy has been started by the State and Union Governments and a time has come when they should refuse to listen to the dictates of merchants of blood and devastation.
