JAMMU: A boy had a narrow escape when he came in contact with a fence of park and got electrocuted in Lower Roop Nagar area of Jammu on Sunday. A local woman Seema Mattoo, who noticed the boy stuck up to the fence raised an alarm. A passerby Ramesh Koul came to the rescue of the boy and wisely separated the boy from the fence using a cricket bat.
Later, it was noticed that the fence was bearing current due to leakage by uncovered live wires kept unattended by the PDD staff responsible for looking after the transformer installed adjacent to the park.
The locals shifted the boy to the hospital for treatment wherein the doctors said that the boy is out of danger. Due to negligent attitude of the PDD, a teenager would have lost his life if the locals had not noticed the incident timely.
