PDD Premier League: S&O XI to meet EM&RE Direction in final

JAMMU: System and Operation (S&O) XI shall meet EM&RE Direction in the final of PDD Premier League T20 2017 Cricket Cup, which got underway at Green Field, Gandhi Nagar, here.
Earlier in the first semifinal played on Monday, EM&RE Direction thrashed Purchase Circle by three wickets.
Batting first after winning the toss, Purchase Circle was bowled out for 128 runs in 19.3 overs. Rajnish played a knock of 42 runs off 48 ball with the help of four boundaries and one six followed by J.P Singh and Hiteshwar Sood, who made 24 runs each.
For EM&RE Direction, Darshan and Surinder shared three wickets each while Bunty picked two.
In reply, EM&RE Direction chased the target in 17.5 overs for the loss of seven wickets. Varinder with 30, Surinder 18 and Manmeet 12 runs were the main scorers. For Purchase Circle, Amarjeet claimed two wickets.
78 runs off 52 balls, studded with 6 fours and 4 sixes, while Ankush and Iqbal chipped in with 18 runs each. From ED-I XI Bunty and Aman took 2 wickets each.
In second semifinal, S&O XI got the better of Commercial and Planning (C&P) Division by five runs.
Batting first, S&O XI scored a big total of 172 runs for the loss of nine wickets in 20 overs. Kailash was top scorer with 34 off 24 balls including two boundaries and three sixes, while Kamal and Manoj also chipped in with 17 runs each.
For C&P Division, Anil clinched three wickets while Varat and Arvind claimed two wickets each.
C&P Division, , in reply, managed to score 167 runs for the loss of ten wickets, thus lost the match by five runs. Tahir scored power-packed 74 runs off 43 balls, studded with three fours and nine massive sixes. Jyoti also contributed 44 runs off 34 balls (5×4, 3×6) to the total.
For S&O XI, Ajit Singh was the wrecker-in-chief, who scalped three wickets, while Kailash and Iqbal claimed two wickets each.
The matches were officiated by Avinash Uttam, Rohin Gupta, Rajeev Gupta and Gurdeep Bhai, Sanjeev Puri and Ajaz Kazmi.
