PDD failed to provide uninterrupted power supply to industrial sector: FOI

JAMMU: Federation of In-dustries, Jammu, raised serious concern over the Power Development Department (PDD) which has failed to supplied uninterrupted power to industrial sector in spite of the fact that Chief Engineer M and RE, Jammu instructed the Executive Engineers STD Division I and II to ensure uninterrupted power supply to industrial sector, but the instructions were subsequently withdrawn by the Chief Engineer for the reason best known to the department.
In the meeting held here on Wednesday, Chairmanship FoI, Lalit Mahajan mentioned that government has failed to provide uninterrupted quality power to the existing industrial units working in the State resulting great resentment amongst the stake holders. At present the units located in the Bari Brahmana, Gangyal, Samba, Birpur and Digiana industrial areas are suffering badly due to unscheduled power curtailment, he said adding that in spite of repeated request and reminders to the Power Development Dep-artment for providing supply from the dedicated industrial feeders to Gangyal, Birpur and Digiana Industrial Areas, no action is taken so far. The request for the upgradation of receiving station meant for Gangyal, Birpur and Digiana Industrial Estates is still pending with the government since long but no action has been taken till date, he added. Federation of Industries Jammu requested Dr. Nirmal Kumar Singh, Deputy Chief Minister and also Minister for Power and Chander Prakash, Industries and Commerce Minister to kindly intervene into the matter and issue immediate orders for the restoration of 24 hours uninterrupted power supply to the industrial sector.
The meeting was attended by Rajesh Jain, Jatinder Aul, Vijay Aggarwal, Ajit Bawa, Romesh Badyal, Rajinder Gupta, S.B Abrol and Ajay Langer.
