JAMMU: Seeking justice in their favour, casual labourers of Power Deve-lopment Department decided to go on Kaam Chhoro Hartal from 22nd August, 2016.
“All Casual Need Based Union workers of PDD have decided to go on Kaam Choro Hartal in front of the Office of Chief Engineer EM and RE Wing Jammu from 22nd August as mark of long pending genuine demands of the workers,” General Secre-tary of the Union Sanjeev told reporters.
He expressed concern over the attitude of the departmental authorities for withholding the wages of these need based casual labourers who are performing their duties in the field with dedication for the last 20 years.
They demanded release of pending wages, regularisation, insurance policy and compensation to the Dead/ handicapped workers.
