LEH: All religious communities of Leh resented strongly against All Party Delegation for not scheduling a visit to Ladakh region to listen to the aspirations and issues of the people here which are different from that of the people of Kashmir. Heads of religious communities, through a joint representation to the Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Friday, warned that any major decision concerning Jammu and Kashmir cannot be taken without consulting and involving the people of Ladakh.
“Jammu has been added in the last minute while there is no mention of Ladakh although Jammu’s status is no different than Ladakh,” it reads. A joint letter addressed to the Union Home Minister resenting no visit to Ladakh by All Party Delegation was signed by President Ladakh Buddhist Association (LBA) Tsewang Thinles, President Anjuman Moin Ul Islam Sheikh Saif Ud Din, President Anjuman Imamia Ashraf Ali Barcha and President Christian Community Leh David Sonam.
The religious leaders have requested the Home Minister to schedule a visit of the delegation to Ladakh also to listen to and respect the aspirations, woes and issues relating the region since aspirations and issues of Ladakh are entirely different from that of the people of Kashmir. In their joint letter the religious leaders have cautioned for serious repercussions and protests in Ladakh if the delegation failed to visit the region.
