Pak again

Pakistan once again has shown that it is not interested in maintaining peace. The current misadventure comes on the eve of New Year in Samba sector which is the second incident of ceasefire violation by it in twenty four hours. More than 500 incidents of ceasefire violation have taken place by Pakistan since the truce came into force in 2003. The worst such escalation was in August-October in which 13 people were killed and thousands displaced. Earlier also when incidents of violations took place Union Government was spontaneous in issuing statements about ‘appropriate action’. In the present case also Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar was categorical in saying that the forces were to react appropriately ‘without holding  yourself back’. In fact government should also adopt the policy of not holding yourself back with number of ceasefire violations going up and Pakistan not moving from its stand despite the fact at home the rogue nation is fighting its own creation –the wrath of militancy. The recent case of Peshawar school killings is the example which should force it to rethink in extending support to them against India. Most of the firing targeting border outposts at this time of the year is considered to push in militants from Pakistan side. This is for the first time Pakistan has accepted the death of four Rangers  in retaliatory firing by Indian  security forces. Before this Pakistani troops had  resorted to firing  in Pallanwal sector of Jammu District. Pakistan should understand the futility of such misadventure  and should desist from this unless that country is planning something big with Americans moving out of Afghanistan.
