JAMMU: The students of GGM Science College lodged a protest demonstration late on Wednesday night after a group of outsiders barged into the campus and attacked few hostel inmates.
The accused, as usual, fled away before the police reached the spot. Later, the students sat on dharna to call police.
“We raised alarm and called police, said an inmate of the college hostel, adding, “But no one responded to our call. After an hour, a police gypsy arrived in the college. By that time, the attackers had fled away.”
“We decided to lodge a protest demonstration on road side and we have gathered to awake the police,” said Ashwani Gupta, a student.
Late in the night, the dharna was lifted after police assured to arrest the culprits.
“Police is not recording our statement as we inform them that we can identify the attackers,’ blamed the protesting students. No FIR was registered till the filing of the story.
