JAMMU: The National Highway (NH) which was damaged and blocked at Gangroo and Higni (Ramsoo) due to recent unprecedented flood/landslides is expected to be restored for one way traffic on Friday.
Keeping in view the prevailing situation in the Valley and smooth flow of traffic on National Highway especially at Gangroo and Higni (Ramsoo) the traffic on NH shall strictly ply one way.
Only relief and essential commodities carrying vehicles shall be allowed to ply from Jammu to Srinagar on first two days i.e from 16th to 17th September, 2014.
Thereafter, the traffic for one day i.e on 19th September, 2014 (only passenger vehicle) will ply from Srinagar to Jammu. Similarly, for next two days i.e from 19th to 20th September 2014 the traffic will ply from Jammu to Srinagar.
No extra heavy vehicles i.e multi-axial vehicles, trailers and trucks carrying non essential commodities/material shall ply on the national highway till the situation gets normal/better, However, LMV’s shall be allowed to ply from Jammu to Srinagar through Kishtwar-Sinthantop road without any restriction during this period.
