RAMBAN: A man died on spot whereas another received several injuries after a truck ran over a herd of cattle on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway near Pantiyal area of district Ramban, today.
According to the police officials the deceased was identified as Bashir whereas the injured as Jaffar Ali both resident of Sumbar area of district Ramban. Four buffaloes were also killed in this mishap.
“The injured person was shifted to Sub District Hospital Banihal for treatment” they said. There was heavy traffic jam in between Banihal-Ramban for about two hours after the accident took place.
Police further said that they were on way to local pastures of upper reaches with their live stock when trolley truck ran over them and later turned turtle on road. A case has been registered at Police Station Ramsoo in this regard and investigations started.
