Sends ashes of over 100 deceased persons to Purmandal for immersion

MMU: Mayor Jammu, Rajinder Sharma on Saturday conducted surprise inspection of Jogi Gate, oldest cremation ground of the City.
During inspection the Mayor found human bones left at the electrical crematorium which was closed decades back.
The bones were collected and on further reaching the store room at the cremation ground, the Mayor found ashes of about 100 unknown persons and he himself lifted the ashes.
He called an ambulance and send all these ashes to Purmandal for immersion in Gupt Ganga Devak as per proper Hindu rituals.
The Mayor also checked the entire cremation ground and gave instructions for replacing the old taps there and removal of clothes and other such things lying scattered.
He directed for proper cleanliness at the place of last rites and said that the coffins for carrying dead bodies should be made of steel rather than wood as wooden one get damaged. The Mayor gave instructions for the removal of weeds and bushes from the place.
