Officials urged in SVEEP to motivate electorate to cast vote

POONCH: An impressive Special Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) Gram Sabha was held under comprehensive district SVEEP programme to enhance awareness among the electorate about the importance of voting and to motivate them for greater participation in the forthcoming general elections to Legislative Assembly in village Dhargloon on Thursday.
Speaking on the occasion, the District Election Officer, M.H Malik highlighted the importance of elections and voting in a democracy and appealed to the Gram Sabha to inform and motivate everyone to cast their vote in the elections. He particularly requested the Panchs, Sarpanchs, ASHA and Anaganwari workers to use their influence to motivate the villagers to freely exercise their constitutional right to vote. Reminding them of the duty to ensure participation in the democratic process, the DEO said every right has a corresponding duty and the time has come when we perform our duty to strengthen the democratic system by exercising our right to vote. He exhorted the students to act as ambassadors and disseminate the message of importance of electoral participation for stronger democracy and asked them to press their parents to cast their vote on the 2nd December. The DEO requested the ASHA and Aanganwari workers to motivate the women folk to exercise their right to vote freely.
Senior Superintendent of Police, J S Johar who also spoke on the occasion assured a free and secure environment and appealed to the participants to cast their vote without any fear.
Nodal Officer, SVEEP Poonch, Dr. Zakir Hussain along with Prof. Anwar Khan, Prof. Haroon Rathore and other members of SVEEP team, gave motivational speeches and inspired and motivated the Sabha to take part in the ensuing ‘Jashn-e-Jamhoor’’. The SVEEP team under the guidance of the DEO has been organising SVEEP programmes and rallies in various parts of the district to ensure maximum participation of the electorate in the Assembly elections.

Meanwhile another SVEEP programme was organised and rally taken out, with students chanting slogans while carrying banners and placards having different motivating messages at HSS Harni.
Among others SDM, Surankote, Afzal Mirza, CEO, Ch Lal Hussain, BDO Surankote, Zubair Ahmed besides Panchs, Sarpanchs, ASHA and Aanganwari workers, local residents, teachers and hundreds of students participated.
RAMNAGAR: As per the directions of District Election Officer, Yasha Mudgal, an electoral awareness campaign under Systematic Voters Education and Electrol Participation (SVEEP) was organised at Government High School, Konain Ramnagar.
Sub Divisional Magistrate, Ramnagar, Dhirendra Sharma was the Chief Guest on the occasion.
Large number of students drawn from various schools including Government High School Chak Baryalta and High School Konain participated in programme.
Sharma appealed to the people to participate in greater number during the forthcoming Assembly elections.
Romalo Ram and party also presented colourful cultural programme based on SVEEP awareness on the occasion.
