KATHUA: In order to celebrate ‘National Voters Day’ on 25th of January, in befitting manner across the Kathua District, Nehru Yuva Kendra, Kathua organised one day workshop of National Youth Volunteers at office to discuss and finalise to launch an awareness campaign to make aware and educate the rural masses about the power of voting rights and electoral participation to achieve 100 per cent voting at all levels.
Under the guidance of District Youth Coordinator, in the workshop, as per the theme of this year of ‘National Voters Day’ -Empowering Youth and Future Voters” participants discussed and finalised how to mobilise the youth who have attained the age of 18 years to enroll them in voters list and prepare voter identity card , correction in voter list with the help of Booth Level Officers and also the youth who are going to be eligible voters in near future are ready to participate in democratic process consciously to use his voting right. Specific targets were given to attract and cover maximum number of youth and females to make them aware and alert voters to strengthen the democracy at grass root level.
