NoKs of police personnel seek employment under SRO 43

JAMMU: Wards of deceased police personnel warned the State Government to settle their cases at the earliest and one time relaxation be given to them as given in militancy related cases otherwise they will choose the wrong path and can cross any line.
Staging a protest against the government at Exhibition Ground here on Wednesday, next of kins of deceased police personnel said that at the time of the death of their fathers they were minors and were informed by the concerned officers that they would be provided employment by the department on the basis of SRO 43 once they attained the age of maturity i.e, 18 years.
“About 120 cases of NoKs of the police personnel who had died in harness are pending disposal for appointment in Home Department for the last eight years,” they said adding that they knocked all the doors of government but their demand is still pending.
“Our financial conditions are totally weak as we have no source of income,” they said and appealed to the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti to make their compassionate appointment under SRO-43 as early as possible.
