JAMMU: Special Judge National Investigation Agency (NIA) Court rejected the bail application of Fayaz Ahmed Rather, son of Late Abdul Rehman Rather, resident of Anantnag involved in fake currency case.
According to NIA case, on 11th January, police laid a Naka at High Court Morh Jammu prior to Republic Day celebration. At about 12:30 hours, four persons after seeing the Naka tried to flee from the scene. On observing their suspicious activity, the police caught them and conducted body search and found currency notes prima facie appeared to be genuine Indian currency notes from their possession. During on the spot verification it was discovered that the notes were actually high quality fake Indian currency notes (FICN).
Court after hearing both the sides observed that in view of danger of the accused to abuse the concession of bail by way of absconding or tampering with the evidence, and the perusal of the record revealing that mother of the accused is a chronic patient and is being treated in OPD at Sher-i-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences, Soura, Srinagar since 2014, there is nothing on record which could prove the grounds projected for bail.
“The accused is facing trial for the serious offences and keeping in view the aforementioned facts and circumstances the bail application is rejected”, the Court maintained.
