JAMMU: Legal Metrology Department on Saturday booked the Nescafe outlets for delivering less quantity of refresher drink against the declared quantity.
Acting swiftly on a consumer complaint, a team of Legal Metrology Department under the supervision of Joint Controller Legal Metrology Jammu, V.S Sambyal inspected various fast food restaurants and cafe outlets at Bahu Plaza and Gole Market.
Legal Metrology Officer Jammu Lower, Mohsin Khateeb during the inspection observed that Nescafe outlets in Bahu Plaza and Gole Market were cheating the gullible consumers by delivering less quantity of cold refresher Frappe by 100 ml against declared quantity of 230 Ml.
The outlets were booked in violation of various provisions of Jammu and Kashmir Weights and Measures (Enforcement) Act and Rules.
The proprietors of the said outlets were directed to report to the Office of the Joint Controller Legal Metrology Jammu for further legal action.
