NC Minority Cell protests against non-availability of ration

JAMMU: Scores of National Conference Minority Cell activists on Monday staged protest against the non-availability of ration for the last three months. Led by President NC Minority Cell, M.K Yogi, the activists assembled at in front of the Office of Relief and Rehabilitation Office Migrants and raised slogans in support of their demands. The protesters expressed resentment against the dictatorial approach of Zonal and Central Office officials of Relief Organisation due to which they have been facing hardships related to the day-to-day affair of the migrants such as inclusion; bifurcation, State Subject certificate etc. “The migrants are being harassed every now and then in the pretext of some papers or that by newly appointed staff at Relief Office. When these unnecessary harassments were taken to higher ups in the government only assurances were given and nothing concrete has been done on the ground. Thus we presume that this is a failed government and migrant cannot expect anything from this Coalition Government,” the protesters rued. Yogi said that most of the families are at the verge of starvation due to non-availability of ration for the last three months which is gross violation of basic human rights of poor migrants.
The protesters urged upon the authorities not to test the patience of displaced people and ration must be distributed among the migrants before 8th of every month and relief in the first week of every month failing which the migrants will launch a comprehensive agitation.
Prominent among those who joined the protest include Bushan Lal Bhat Ex MLC, Jatin Bhat, Bal Krishan Bhat, Amit Koul, Ashok Kumar Bhat, R.K Koul, Raj Nath Fotedar, Ramesh Bharti and Vinod.
