DARHAL: The National Deworming Day was held on Thursday on the theme ‘Worm free children are healthy children’ at block Darhal. The function was jointly organised by the Health Department, Department of Social Welfare and Education. Chief Medical Officer, Rajouri Suresh Gupta said that as part of the function, children were administered Albendazole 400 mg tablet free of cost to control worm infections and a series of meeting were held to make the National Deworming Day successful and to raisemass awareness. He said it is also important for different government departments and other stakeholders to come together to make such programme a success and it is important for parents to teach the children to maintain hygienic lifestyle.
Speaking at the function, Dr Iqbal Malik, Block Medical Officer Darhal, stated that a child’s health reflects the health of society and the nation as a whole. He said, “Without awareness and sensitisation, the departments involved cannot achieve 100 per cent success in conducted the programme. National Deworming Day 2017 will be a grand success as it is organised jointly by three departments.”
Meanwhile on the occasion of National Deworming Day , all children aged 1-19 were administered the deworming tablets at Amba Kids Home School, Panthal free of cost . On this occasion Chief Medical Officer Reasi Dr. L.D Bhagat, Dr. Amit Bajaj District Health Officer Reasi, Block Medical Officer Katra Dr. Gopal Dutt, Principal Amba Kids Home School and Staff were present to distribute tablets to the school children.
KATHUA: Tiny Scholars Senior Secondary School Kathua Logae joined hand with Health Department in speeding large scale awareness among the masses about National Deworming Day. In this regard a symposium was organised by school in collaboration with Health Department.
Deputy CMO Dr. Chirta Vaishnavi graced the occasion as Chief Guest and threw light on the importance of National Deworming Day and role of Health Department in implementing the drive.
School Principal Manisha Gupta while presenting vote of thanks appreciated the role of Health Department in implementation of the progaramme. School Vice Principal Gareeb Hussain, Coordinator Mukesh Kumar and staff members along with large number of students were also present on the occasion.
Similar function was also organised in Bachpan Wing of Tiny Scholars under the supervision of School Principal Manisha Gupta where Dr. Nitika, Dr. Reena Sharma, Dr. Pardeep Singh from Block Medical Office Parole, Nagri supervised the deworming activity. Small kids chewed tablets under Health Department staff supervision. School staff members and multipurpose worker of Health Department Sangeeta Rani were also present the occasion.
BASOHLI: National Deworming Day was observed in campus of Ramisht Twinkling Star Public High School, Basohli in which students were distributed Albendazole tablets by Health Deptt, Basohli. Students were also made aware about the ill effects of worms in body and use of Albendazole as a way to kill those worms.
RAJOURI: The National De-worming Day was held across the district at all medical blocks.
The Health Department adopted the theme ‘Worm Free Children Are Healthy Children’ on the occasion to sensitize the people about the importance of deworming.
The function were jointly organised by the Health, Social Welfare and Education Departments in different schools and Anganwari Centers at Sunderbani, Nowshera, Kalakote, Kandi, Darhal and Manjakote medical blocks under the supervision of concerned Block Medical Officers. Chief Medical Officer Rajouri Dr. Suresh Gupta started the function at some schools and Anganwari Centers by giving Albendazole 400mg tablets free of cost to the children and teenagers in the age group of 1 to 19 years.
RAMBAN: The National De-worming Day was observed by the Department of Health and Family Welfare in coordination with Ramban District Administration.
CMO Ramban, Dr Safi-u- Din Khan, CEO, Dr Chander Shaker, Dy. CEO Bal Ji Thaploo, Principal GHHS Ramban, Medical Superintendent DH, Dr D V Singh, Dy. CMO Dr. Iqbal Bhat, Nodal officer National Deworming Day, Dr Majid Bhat and various officer and officials of different departments attended the function.
District Development Commissioner, Tariq Hussain Ganai inaugurated the deworming drive at Government Higher Secondary School Ramban by distributing the medicine among the students.
