BENGALURU: The quartet of Sunil Narine, Phillip Salt, Venkatesh Iyer and skipper Shreyas Iyer’s fireworks with the willow overwhelmed brilliant Virat Kohli’s radiance with the bat as Kolkata Knight Riders registered a resounding 7-wicket victory over Royal Challengers Bangalore in the ongoing 17th Edition of Indian Premier League (IPL) at Chinnaswamy Stadium Bengaluru, today.
Chasing a good total of 182 runs, Kolkata Knight Riders surpassed the target easily in 16.5 overs by losing 3 wickets, thus winning the match by 7 wickets.
Venkatesh Iyer top scored with quick-fire 50 runs off 30 balls, studded with 3 fours and 4 sixes, while Sunil Narine contributed power-packed 47 runs off just 22 balls with 2 fours and 5 sixes. Skipper Shreyas Iyer remained unbeaten on 39 runs off 24 balls with 2 fours and 2 sixes, while opener Phillip Salt contributed 30 runs off 20 deliveries with 2 fours and 2 sixes. Rinku Singh remained unbeaten on 5 off equal number of balls.
For RCB, Vijaykumar Vyshak, Yash Dayal and Mayank Daggar claimed one wicket each.
Earlier, put into bat, Royal Challengers Bangalore scored a good total of 182 runs in 20 overs, losing 6 wickets in the process.
